Everyday about noon, I find myself walking into the HUB at USU and pondering about what I will eat that day. However, after about three and a half steps past the entrance I always hear the high pitched voice with a Chinese accent, “Pizzzzza, would you like some pizza today…come try a sample… good pizzzzza!” I’m not sure if I am drawn to the actual greasy slice of pepperoni pizza, or to the small Chinese woman that wears her hair in a bun, with a cheesy smile and signature voice. One way or the other, she always seems to get me to buy a slice of pizza.
It occurred to me one day that this woman knows how to sell! She has the personality that can connect with anyone. If a student says something about the “pizza lady,” instantly a thousand other students know who their talking about. I think marketing and advertising is all about getting a signature look, slogan, etc. Often times, large businesses look past the small and simple things; which could be the best source of PR! People, who work for you and sell your product, have a large impact on who will purchase it.
